Q. How do committees function on an Advisory Board?
A. Committees provide important input to distribution company ownership on all critical areas to the company. The Distributor Board works with the owners of the company to determine the management team members who will sit on each committee. These committees include functional areas such as marketing/sales, finance/audit, warehouse operations, purchasing/sourcing, technology/systems, organization/human resources, and other specialized committees based on specific needs of the company. Committees usually meet monthly and one member of The Distributor Board sits on each committee. Reports from each committee are reviewed at the regular Advisory Board meeting.
